This musical comedy traces a whirlwind journey from muted New York to the saturated spectacle of Las Vegas, with a tropical Hawaiian detour before returning for an outrageous Vegas finale. The costumes mirrored that journey, with each location defined by its own palette and style.

D e s i g n A p p r o a c h

New York scenes were dressed in muted, grounded tones, contrasted by the saturated glamour of Las Vegas. The main pink showgirls embodied classic Vegas spectacle, while red and black poker showgirls mirrored a deck of cards. In Hawai‘i, bold tropical color and the “Hala Tree” for The Garden of Disappointed Mothers created surreal fantasy, before the show climaxed back in Vegas with Elvis impersonators.

Elvii & Showgirls: Each costume hand bedazzled with a mix of hand sewing and adhesive for maximum sparkle.
Showgirl & Hala Tree Headdresses: Built by hand from foam, fabric, feathers, mirrors, rhinestones, and paint to create bold, larger than life silhouettes.
Jack’s Reveal: Double layered Hawaiian outfit designed to tear away, revealing an Elvis jumpsuit underneath.
Betty’s Quick Changes: Wedding gown and showgirl costume rigged with Velcro, snaps, and magnets for seamless transformations.
